Getting Blog To Top 10 Google Search Results

I’ve been maintaining this blog for more than six months. I built this blog from the scratch without any knowledge on how to build a blog. Initially, I intent to build this blog in my native language (Indonesia) and started blogging with some articles while I learn how to blogging properly, but then I changed my mind and start blogging in English. I built this blog using free wordpress theme. I started learning how a blog theme works. Thanks to the simple and easy to understand of Wordpress theme, I began get the feeling that I could handle and maintain this blog in to an appropriate level.
I did learning how to build and manage my blog from various resources including by reading many books and e-books especially on how to bring and get my blog in top search engine placement. I followed all the tips and guides I got and executed them to my blog. And today, after six months, my blog homepage has come to the first page of Google search engine result page for my keywords.
You need to know that I was optimizing this blog for the keyword : ‘blogging for profit” and “profit blogging tips”. Then, with many times of revision, I put the title of my blog as : “Blogging for profit by learning SEO Tips, Tools and Guides”. By doing all the suggestions provided by SEO tips books, including placing my keywords in the SEO friendly title, putting my keywords in anchor text for the incoming links, submitting my blog to various blog directories, making comments on various blogs, then today I check that my blog homepage now sitting on the 10th position for keyword : “blogging for profit” and 8th position for keyword “profit blogging tips” in Google.com searching. Here is the screenshot.

I do really know that maybe tomorrow this search results could be changed again and my homepage position might be thrown away from their current positions. But what I want to convey is that in order to be success in making profit from your blog, having your blog site ranked highly in the search engine is important. Try to optimize your blog that brings your blog at least sitting on top 20 for your keyword, since if you don’t, it is unlikely you will get much traffic from sarch engines.

Nice work. A lot of bloggers don’t even seem to care about search engines that much. More than half of the traffic to my blogs come from search engines. Learning a little SEO is worth it in the long run.

Congratulations! That’s a huge accomplishment for such a new blog. And good for you for focusing on SEO right from the start. A lot of bloggers forget about that in search for social traffic. Saturday I was searching for sites related to Search Engine Placement and specifically get top search engine placement and found this site.
Be honest with you, I don’t even worry about keywords too much. I mean I know they are very important and I do use them in my title and description. But, I think building tons of content and having a lot of links is more important. When you have multiple content, that means you can have tons of keywords that users could follow up on through the search engine.
Nicely done, just checked from my google data center and you’re sitting at position #2 for profit blogging tips. Like you said, it just takes a lot of smart work.
To be the number top 10 in google is also a decision to compete with the words that do not have high competition

The words listed in the top list is really difficult to beat.
Definitely submitting to a personal list of directories and social communities helps. Focusing on less competitive niches doesn’t hurt either!
